The Canandaigua City School District serves approximately 3,400 students in the charming lakeside city of Canandaigua in Ontario County, at the north end of Canandaigua Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes region.
Canandaigua Academy, the district's high school, is known for its strong agricultural education and BOCES CTE partnerships, alongside competitive academics and athletics. The district's calendar was board-approved on January 27, 2025. The Finger Lakes location makes it a community where agriculture, winemaking, and tourism shape the local culture. Compare with Rochester.
Grades 1-12 start on Thursday, September 4, 2025. UPK-K students start on September 5.
Holiday Recess runs from December 22, 2025 through January 2, 2026.
Winter Break is February 17–20, 2026 (Tuesday through Friday, after Presidents' Day).
Spring Break runs from March 30 – April 3, 2026.
The last student day is Thursday, June 25, 2026. June 26 is Rating Day for staff.
Canandaigua Academy is the district's 9-12 high school, known for its strong FFA (Future Farmers of America) program, competitive athletics, and robust AP course offerings. The school serves the broader Canandaigua Lake community.
September 2-3, 2025 (before school starts), March 13, 2026, and October 10, 2025 (half day). Students do not attend on full conference days.
