Bolton Central School District keeps prekindergarten through twelfth grade in one building on Horicon Avenue in Bolton Landing. Established in 1927, the school includes the surrounding Adirondack environment and cultural experiences beyond the district in its educational approach.
In the primary grades, reading and language development anchor instruction. Children work with stories through reading, writing, speaking, drawing and dramatization, with individual and small-group teaching included in the literacy program. Science and social studies are connected with that language work, alongside art, music and physical education. Bolton also accepts applications from nonresident families through a tuition arrangement, with new students able to enter at the start of the September or January semester under the district's enrollment procedures. Nonresident students must apply and follow the district's expectations and probation procedures.
