Several Hudson Valley and Southern Tier districts have a shorter Presidents’ Day break and resume February 16 or 17.

NYC, Long Island and Westchester

Brentwood, Hempstead and Herricks on Long Island follow NYC’s February 15–19 recess, as do Yonkers, White Plains and New Rochelle in Westchester.

Shorter Presidents’ Day breaks: February 16 or 17 returns

The seven districts below have February 13–15 off and return Tuesday, February 16. Their break includes one weekday without school.

A trip from February 13–21 would miss four Arlington school days: Tuesday through Friday, February 16–19.

Four-day breaks: an extra Friday or Tuesday

Binghamton and Union-Endicott close Friday, February 12; Suffern closes Tuesday, February 16. Each has two weekdays off.

The three districts share February 13–15 off. The extra day falls on opposite sides of that weekend, so they do not share a four-day break.

One extra day in East Ramapo

East Ramapo adds a February 12 professional day with no school for K–12 students, creating February 12–21 off. Its Monday, February 22 return matches NYC.

Snow make-up days during Midwinter Recess

Clarence starts emergency make-ups February 19 and works backward when its emergency days are exhausted before the break. Frontier lists February 18–19 for affected school levels; Jamestown lists February 16–19 as possible make-up days. Williamsville uses five Spring Recess dates before reclaiming February 19 back through February 16. The directory lists the triggers and recovery dates for each affected district.
