Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District operates Franklin Early Childhood Center, Hewlett and Ogden elementary schools, Woodmere Middle School, and George W. Hewlett High School. Early literacy instruction combines phonics, decodable books, read-alouds, and small-group teaching. Individual writing conferences help children plan and develop their work.
For 2026–27, ninth-grade options include Engineering and Robotics alongside Intro to Science Research. Advanced study includes Advanced Placement calculus, statistics, biology, and chemistry, alongside college dual-enrollment courses in subjects such as accounting, marketing, and world languages. Students can continue scientific research beyond the introductory course. Other ninth-grade electives introduce American Sign Language, Italian, and Mandarin. Entry requirements vary by course. Mathematics help is available during the school day and after school, supplementing regular classroom instruction.
